Basic Drive Systems

Lifts at different speeds make necessary different drive systems. Single speed A.C. drive systems: with rate up to 0.63 m/sec. Double speed A.C. drive systems: with a rate up to 1.0 m/sec. Infinite fast A.C. drive systems: with a rate up to 2.0 m/sec. Drive systems with no reducers: with a rate up to 5 m/sec. Hydraulic drive systems. Drive systems with no machine room. Drive systems backed with battery for emergency.

Lifts at different speeds make necessary different drive systems.

Hydraulic drive systems.
Drive systems with no machine room.
Drive systems backed with battery for emergency.

Electrical driven systems

Lift number and size are underlying factors on system capacity, but effiency depends mainly on selected lift mechanisms.
Driving mechanism and doors cover 80% of time counting between caris daparture and arrival from and to bottom floor.
Lift ascending/descending speed adds more into transportation capacity, but after a certain level of speed, it turns non-significant gradually for said capacity.
The more building is higher, the more speed level is significant.

Hydraulic drive systems

At hydraulic lifts

- Machinery room location is op-
tinal at any place of the building,
but the distance between shaft
and machinery room should be 30
meters at maximum.

- Architects are allowed to decide
on roof and attic construction free-
ly. The lift may be installed such to
reach terrace floor.

- The actuation motor operates
only when the lift moves upward,
but when moving downward, sys-
tem moves by proper weight. This
advantage ensures a downward
movement of the car during in
case of any interruption (mains
power break, blown fuse, etc.)

- The downward speed may be in-
creased independently of upward
moving speed. This advantage al-
lows to increase traffic efficiency
in the building without increasing
motor power.
